Fishing Report for April 4th, 2025:

Pyramid Lake:

Well the fish are cruising most beaches, but like the last five years, they are a grind to get them to eat. Stripping beetlesin the pre-sunrise hour and been very affective. going to the indicator after that is the way to go. The fish have been switching colors and sizes on what they want daily! Don’t be afraid to switch our frequently until you find what they want that day! Size 14 midges have been most productive through the course of guiding, but one day they wanted size 10’s

Stick through the grind and stay with it you will get them! Unlike years prior there are still some great fish being caught!!

Truckee River:

Run off is slowly starting and the water is slowly turning off color.

Flows for the Nevada side are running between 539 and 691 cfs.

Fishing has slowed a bit with run off slowly starting and the Rainbows gearing up for spawn or are already in early spawn, so watch where you walk and be cautious of Reds!!!

Flies: Sz 12 P.T.’s, San Juan worms, Stoneflies in Olive or black, Caddis in Tan or the burnt orange, have been strong on the river. Streamers if you want to put in the work have been doing well in Olive and Black in the murkier water. if you’re looking for that Tank, this can be a great way to go!!
